School management software price in Pakistan
Most vendors in Pakistan will not put a price on their website. You fill a form, wait for a call, and then get a number with no way to tell whether it is fair.
This page explains the four ways schools here get quoted, the costs that show up after the contract, and what Skoo charges. Our own prices are on the pricing page — no form needed.
The four ways you will be quoted
The figures below are the ranges commonly advertised in the Pakistani market. Treat them as a way to read a quote, not as any particular vendor's price.
Per student, per month
Rs 30–100 per enrolled student each monthA 400-student school at Rs 50 pays Rs 20,000 a month — Rs 240,000 a year.
The bill grows every time you admit a child, and most contracts count enrolled students, not active users. Ask whether students who leave mid-session stop being billed.
Flat monthly fee by size
One monthly figure for a band, e.g. up to 500 studentsThe same 400-student school pays the band price whether it has 300 or 490 children.
Cheaper than per-student once you cross a few hundred students. Check what happens the month you cross the band — some vendors move you up mid-session.
One-time licence + yearly maintenance
A large amount once, then 15–20% of it every yearCommon with desktop software installed on one office computer.
The licence is not the real number — the yearly maintenance, the server, and the cost of a technician visiting when it breaks are. Ask what stops working if you skip a maintenance year.
Free plan, paid upgrade
Rs 0 up to a student limitFine for a 40-student school; the question is what the jump costs at student 51.
Look at the first paid tier before you start, not after you have entered a year of data.
Compare the yearly total, not the monthly figure, and do the sum at the student count you expect next April rather than today's.
What the quote usually leaves out
These are the items that turn a comfortable monthly number into an uncomfortable one by the second term.
- SMS credits. Almost never included. Ask for the per-SMS rate and who you buy it from.
- WhatsApp messages. Meta charges per conversation. A school sending fee reminders to 400 parents every month is a real line item.
- Biometric or RFID hardware, plus someone to mount it and wire it.
- ID card printing — cards, ribbon, and a card printer, or the per-card rate at a print shop.
- Setup: importing last year's students, fee heads, and balances from your Excel files.
- Training for the office staff who will actually use it, and again in April when staff change.
- Per-campus charges. A second branch is sometimes a second full subscription.
- Support outside office hours — the exact time a fee-collection day goes wrong.
- The yearly increase. Ask for it in writing before the first year ends.
- Getting your data out if you leave. Ask for it in writing too.
What Skoo charges
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | Students |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | PKR 0 | PKR 0 | up to 50, 1 campus |
| Basic | PKR 5,000 | PKR 50,000 | up to 500, 2 campuses |
| Pro | PKR 15,000 | PKR 150,000 | unlimited, unlimited campuses |
Billed in PKR, monthly or yearly — yearly costs two months less. No setup fee, and importing your existing student and fee data is part of onboarding on paid plans. Staff accounts are not charged per seat; the difference between plans is student count, campuses and which modules are switched on. The parent app comes with paid plans. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
Two things we do not bill for, and two we cannot: app notifications to parents are free, and so are extra staff accounts. SMS and WhatsApp go through your own provider account at their rate, and biometric machines or card printers are bought from a hardware supplier, not from us.
Ten questions before you pay anyone
Send these to every vendor on your list, including us, and compare the answers side by side.
- 1Is the price per student or flat? If per student, is it enrolled or active students?
- 2What is the price for my exact student count, in PKR, for a year?
- 3Which modules are not in this price?
- 4What does a second campus cost?
- 5Who pays for SMS and WhatsApp messages, and at what rate?
- 6Is data import from our Excel files included, and how many years of history?
- 7How many training sessions are included, and what does an extra one cost?
- 8What is the renewal price next year, and the cap on increases?
- 9If we leave, in what format do we get our data, and how long does it take?
- 10Is there a free plan or a trial with our own data, not a demo account?

Price questions
How much does school management software cost in Pakistan?
There is no single market rate. Vendors quote in four ways: per student per month (commonly advertised around Rs 30–100), a flat monthly fee for a size band, a one-time licence with yearly maintenance, or a free plan with paid upgrades. For a 400-student school, per-student pricing at Rs 50 works out to roughly Rs 240,000 a year, while flat monthly plans are usually lower at that size. Always compare the yearly total, not the monthly figure.
What does Skoo cost?
Free for up to 50 students and one campus. Basic is PKR 5,000 a month (PKR 50,000 a year) for up to 500 students and 2 campuses. Pro is PKR 15,000 a month (PKR 150,000 a year) with unlimited students, unlimited campuses and every module. Yearly billing saves two months. There is no setup fee.
Is school software cheaper per student or as a flat monthly fee?
Below roughly 100–150 students, per-student pricing is usually cheaper. Above that, a flat plan almost always wins, because the per-student bill keeps growing with every admission while the flat fee does not.
Are SMS messages included in the price?
Usually not, with any vendor. In Skoo you connect your own SMS or WhatsApp account, so you pay your provider directly at their rate and there is no markup from us. App notifications to parents cost nothing.
Is there free school management software in Pakistan?
Free plans exist, including Skoo's for schools up to 50 students. Free open-source systems also exist, but they need someone to host, update and back them up — that person's time is the real price. Before choosing a free plan, check what the first paid tier costs, because moving your data later is harder than starting on the right plan.
Prices are on the page, not behind a form.
