Teacher performance evaluation for schools, from records you already keep
Skoo shows the principal how each teacher is doing without a new round of forms. Attendance, results, homework, lesson plans and syllabus progress are already in Skoo, so the system part of the score is worked out for you. The principal adds a rubric rating, writes the comments and finalizes the report.
What the score is made of
Every number comes from something your school already entered in Skoo. Nobody types the same thing twice. Each category is the average of its indicators, and the overall score uses the weights your school sets.
- Teaching: periods taken against the timetable, class attendance marked on time (for class teachers), homework given and checked.
- Student results: average marks and pass rate in the classes and subjects the teacher teaches.
- Syllabus: Scheme of Study weeks the teacher marked as taught, and lesson plans made.
- Attendance and punctuality: days present, days late, and marks entered within the number of days your school allows after an exam ends.
- Principal's assessment: a 1 to 5 rubric the principal fills in.
Fair to a teacher who got a weak class
Average marks alone punish the teacher who was given the weakest section. So Skoo also compares the same students in their other subjects. If the whole class is low everywhere, the report shows it. If only one subject is low, that shows too.
A result based on fewer than 10 marks is shown, but marked as a rough guess.
Missing data is not zero
If your school does not mark staff attendance, no teacher is shown as absent. That part says no data, and the other parts share its weight. Each line also says how to start recording it, for example: enter marks in Exams.
Every indicator opens to show how it was worked out, such as how many days were late and how many periods were counted.
The principal's part
- A rubric of five questions to start with: teaching method and classroom management, subject knowledge, student engagement, homework checking and assessment, and professional conduct. Your school can change the questions.
- Each question is rated 1 to 5. Strengths, things to improve and one to three goals are written on the report.
- At the next evaluation the teacher's earlier goals appear on the page, so the principal can see what happened to them.
- The system score and the principal's score stay separate on the report, so everyone can see which is which.
Finalize, then it is locked
A report starts as a draft. When the principal finalizes it, the numbers at that moment are saved. If the timetable or a teacher's classes change later, an old report does not change. Reopening a finalized report is possible and is written to the audit log.
Your school sets the rules
- Weights for the five categories. They start at 30, 30, 20, 10 and 10 percent.
- Period: monthly, every three months, half yearly or yearly.
- How many days after an exam the marks count as on time.
- Bands (Top, Good, Needs attention) with your own cut-off marks, or a full numbered list.
- Whether syllabus progress counts at all.
- Whether teachers can see their own finalized report. This is off until you switch it on.
What the teacher sees
If the school allows it, a teacher sees their own finalized report on a My Evaluation page. They can tick that they have read it and add one comment, which the principal sees on the report. A teacher never sees a rank or another teacher's report.
Reports and comparison
- Print or save a report for one teacher as a PDF, in English or Urdu.
- A summary sheet of all teachers for the principal or the school owner.
- A compare view that you can sort and filter by subject or class.
Where AI helps, and where it does not
AI can write a first draft of the strengths, things to improve and goals from the records and the ratings. It can also read the principal's own notes from a classroom visit, in English, Urdu or Roman Urdu, and suggest a 1 to 5 rating with a reason for each question you mention.
The principal reads, edits and saves. AI never sets a score and nothing is saved by itself. The teacher's name is not sent to the AI provider.
Good to know: what it does not do
- It does not decide pay, promotion or whether a teacher stays. It gives the principal evidence to start from.
- AI does not score anyone. The score comes from a formula you can open and check.
- It does not read minds or judge a teacher by photos or video.
- It does not collect parent or student ratings of teachers.
- Periods taken is an estimate from the timetable, not a record that each class really happened.
- A teacher with no Skoo login can be evaluated, but their homework and lesson plans cannot be linked to them.
Questions, answered.
How do you evaluate a teacher's performance in a school?
Use facts you can show and one honest opinion. Skoo works out the facts from your records: attendance, punctuality, results, homework, lesson plans and syllabus progress. The principal adds a rubric rating and comments. The two are shown separately on the report.
Does a teacher with a weak class get a low score?
Not for that reason alone. Skoo compares the same students in their other subjects, so a weak class shows up as a class problem and not only a teacher problem.
What if our school does not mark staff attendance or enter marks in Skoo?
That part says no data and is left out of the score. Nobody gets a zero for something the school never recorded. The page tells you how to start recording it.
Who can see teacher evaluations?
The school owner and the principal can. Your school can give the permission to other roles. Teachers see only their own finalized report, and only if you switch that on.
Does AI decide the score?
No. The score comes from a formula. AI only drafts the written comments and suggests ratings from the principal's notes, and the principal decides what is saved.
Can we change what counts and how much?
Yes. You set the weights, the evaluation period, the rubric questions, the marks deadline and whether teachers see their own report.
Does this work for a single small school?
Yes. Which teachers are listed comes from your staff records. Add them and their classes, and the scorecard fills as attendance, marks and homework are entered.
